Class 2-18-11

Today we got in groups and went on a web site that let us build a pyramid.  It took my group a long time to complete the build because choosing the right thing was hard.  Than for homework we have to write a song on the things that we have learned about Egypt.

Homework: Song

Figure out who I am

Learn about history
Solve a mystery
Figure out who I am
By digging in the sand

Pyramids, statues, and drawings in stones
Take a look at my mummy and count my bones

Learn about history
Solve a mystery
Figure out who I am
Am I woman or man

1472 to 1457 BC
I ruled Egypt and Made History
The first female Pharaoh in the 18th Dynasty

Learn about history
Solve a mystery
Figure out who I am
My stepson had a plan

Not sure how I died
My husband’s son by another mother lied
Tried to erase every trace of my face
Put my body in a different place

Learn about history
Solve a mystery
Figure out who I am
I lost a tooth in the sand

When my mummy was found
No statues or pictures were around
My found tooth held the key
That and DNA solved my mystery

Learn about history
Solve a mystery
Figure out who I am
My stepson had a clever plan

But he couldn’t change history
Because it was my destiny
To be the first woman to rule as a man
I have the largest obelisk in all the land

Learn about history
Solve a mystery
Figure out who I am
Bricks to hide me fell away

And showed a clue to the root
Of who I was, Queen Hatshepsut.
